MultiFunction Displays

MFDs come in a variety of styles – from large flat screen panel-mounts to portable, handheld self-contained navigators. The MFD has become an important tool for both the VFR and IFR cockpit since it can display a host of mission-specific data. From high-resolution weather graphics, airborne traffic targets, terrain, obstacle, and topographical data to instrument approach, aeronautical sectional and enroute charts the MFD is a wealth of information.

Aspen’s Evolution 1500 PFD/MFD combination

The Aspen Evolution 1500 combines the powerful 1000Pro PFD with the versatile and affordable EFD500 Multi-function Flight Display to deliver a full-featured, easy-to-use glass panel at the lowest price on the market.   The benefits of a dual-screen Aspen are many, including the ability to spread the data out between screens.  For instance, Aspen MFD1000 and 500 series multi-function screens can play Aspen’s ESV synthetic vision software for a spread-out and full-screen depiction of the flight environment.  This offers the option of turning the ESV off on the primary screen if the data becomes distracting.

Aspen’s MFD500 is an affordable and easy way to compliment an existing PFD while adding electronic charts, traffic overlay, satellite weather and a wide variety of mapping functionality.   The Aspen Avionics 1000MFD offers easy retrofit to the pilot’s instrument panel and serves double-duty as a PFD (Primary Flight Display).   Call an installation interface professional at EXXEL for more information on adding an Aspen PFD/MFD combination to your panel.
